@KevinSJoyce It’s a practice at St. Peter’s meant to stop people from taking the host away as a souvenir, or worse. Those who pastor, catechize, & know their parishioners shouldn’t have that concern at home. It’s not “papal practice,” it’s just a pastoral accommodation to the circumstances.
